| Dear Kirtland Webmail User
Kirtland uses a combination of tools to protect you from SPAM, viruses, and phishing scams. However, you should always use caution and learn to recognize e-mail scams that might get by our system. 1. Be suspicious of any email : - asking for personal information such as account numbers, social security number, passwords, etc. - from an unfamiliar or unexpected source. - containing obvious grammatical errors, numerous “typos”, or poor wording. - urging you to act immediately, or to verify account information or passwords. - misusing or misspelling Kirtland or department names, or using incorrect titles. 2. If in doubt, don’t click on hyperlinks in e-mails, either copy and paste the address into your web browser, or better yet go directly to the company’s web site by typing the address into your web browser. 3. Remember Kirtland will never ask for your account information or password via email.
